This is a crappy picture, but I wanted to draw something that actually portrayed Ilia, Zelda, and Marin as friends...instead of catty rivals.
If there's one thing I seriously hate about the Zelda fandom, it's the insufferably intense shipping wars that go on amongst fans. God, it's unbearable.
I like all three of these characters, and I honestly don't mind seeing them paired with Link. I just think it's insane that fans go around flaming each other simply because of what pairings they support. It's a freaking video game, guys. I think we all have better things to be doing than arguing with each other over who should be Link's girlfriend.
Anyway, I have to say, my drawing here looks pretty terrible. I don't think I did these girls any justice at all. And I know there are certainly other female characters from the series who could've/should've also appeared in this image to promote the theme of friendship and tolerance...but uh, I copped out and stuck with these three. Ilia, Zelda, and Marin/Malon receive the brunt of most flames anyway, don't they?
Well, my apologies again for the sucky quality of the pic, but I hope some of you out there will enjoy seeing this and appreciate the message. ^_^
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
