Gah, I put a lot of effort into this picture, and it still didn't turn out like I had wanted it to...
And I think it might be hard to distinguish now or something, but that BG was originally intended to be a forest. Also, the whole apple theme here was totally inspired by Akira Himekawa's ALttP / Triforce of the Gods manga. You should go check it out if you haven't already.
Man, I suck so profoundly at drawing Link, which probably explains why his face looks so crappy and deformed. Lol. And I imagine it was mostly laziness on my part, but I'm going to claim that I screwed around with their clothing just to be fun and creative.
Oh, and the tacky glowing orbs were added in because that's sort of my "thing"...as sad as it is for me to admit (you can go look at the rest of my gallery / scrapbook to see the embarrassing trend).
Wow. I really really really like this. The colors and the shading... the contrast... and... stuff. *can't think of exactly what I'm trying to describe* But I really like it. I never really played any of the Zelda games before... but still. This is cute. And nicely done.
And you know what? I like the glowy, floating orbs. Really. They might be a little cliche' at times, but I use them in backgrounds too (when I do backgrounds that is... which is only on the computer... ^_^¿) But I like them.
Which brings me to another topic. I've been wanting to ask you, how do you do your little floaty orbs? Or, hell, just, like... the white parts in your work? Do you leave that space on the paper white, or do you have a white marker or something...? Or is it touched up via computer? Anyway, I really like it. I can never seem to keep things white when I use markers... -_-¿ Anyway, the peice is beautiful, keep it up!
